At Lost Gen Club we are committed to making our online store accessible to everyone, including people with visual, hearing, motor, cognitive or other disabilities. We work continuously to ensure our website can be used with assistive technologies such as screen readers, keyboard navigation and screen magnifiers.

Conformance standard

This website is developed following the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA by the W3C, with elements of WCAG 2.2 Level AA already incorporated where applicable. WCAG is the baseline referenced by:

  • The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 508 in the United States.
  • The harmonized standard EN 301 549 and the European Accessibility Act (EAA) in the European Union.

Conformance status

This website is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 AA. Most functionality meets Level AA and we are actively working on closing the remaining gaps. Accessibility is not a one-time project — it is a continuous commitment, and we keep aligning the site with WCAG 2.2 AA as our internal baseline evolves.

What works

  • The site has a clear semantic structure, a "Skip to content" link at the top of every page and a declared content language, so assistive technologies can navigate it efficiently.
  • Every page can be operated entirely from the keyboard, with a logical tab order and a visible focus indicator.
  • Interactive overlays — including the cart, the mobile menu, the collection filter panel and the quick add-to-cart variant popup — can be closed with the Escape key, manage focus correctly and return focus to the element that opened them when closed.
  • Screen-reader announcements confirm cart actions (adding a product, changing a quantity, removing a line) together with the updated cart total, so blind and low-vision users receive clear feedback at every step.
  • Images carry descriptive alternative text, decorative images are marked as such, and product variants that are out of stock are announced as unavailable, not only shown as struck through.
  • All form fields have visible or programmatic labels, and validation errors are announced to assistive technology.
  • Text and interface elements meet the WCAG AA color-contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1, and interactive controls meet the WCAG 2.2 minimum touch-target size of 24×24 pixels.

Known limitations

  • Some sliders and carousels may produce redundant announcements in certain screen readers when their content is loaded dynamically. Improvements are under evaluation.
  • Videos published without captions or transcripts will be flagged as such, and an alternative will be provided on request.
  • A small number of third-party widgets embedded in our store (for example, certain product-page extensions provided by external Shopify apps) do not yet meet our accessibility standard. We track these issues, report them to the corresponding vendors and, where the issue persists, look for in-house workarounds. See the next section for the general scope of vendor-controlled content.
  • Legacy content and older media: blog posts, downloadable documents and images published before our accessibility baseline was raised may not fully meet WCAG 2.1 AA. We remediate them progressively, prioritising the pages and assets with most traffic; in the meantime we will provide accessible alternatives upon request.

Scope of this statement and third-party content

This Accessibility Statement applies exclusively to the content, layout and code of the storefront pages of lostgenclub.com that are directly under our editorial control (theme files, product pages, collections, content pages, navigation and footer). It does not extend to, and we expressly disclaim responsibility for, the components described below.

Shopify-hosted checkout

Our store is hosted on Shopify. The checkout process (cart submission, shipping selection, payment, order confirmation, customer accounts, password reset and order status pages) is rendered, hosted and maintained by Shopify Inc. Its HTML, CSS and JavaScript are not editable by the merchant.

As a result, the accessibility conformance of the checkout flow is the sole responsibility of Shopify, and we have no technical ability to alter, override or remediate accessibility issues in those pages. Shopify publishes its own accessibility documentation at help.shopify.com and shopify.com/accessibility.

If you experience an accessibility barrier specifically within the checkout, customer account, or any other Shopify-hosted page, we encourage you to contact Shopify directly. We will, however, gladly forward your report on your behalf and assist you in completing your purchase by alternative means (see "Reporting an accessibility issue" below).

Third-party applications, scripts and embedded content

Our store integrates third-party applications, plugins, widgets, embeds and scripts to provide functionality such as live chat, customer support, email and SMS marketing, reviews, analytics, advertising pixels, cookie consent management, image galleries and social media feeds. These components are developed, hosted and maintained by their respective providers (including, but not limited to, Klaviyo, Richpanel, Consentmo, Google, Meta, Shopify partners and other independent vendors).

While we make reasonable efforts to select vendors that publicly commit to accessibility, we do not control their source code and cannot guarantee their conformance with WCAG 2.1 AA or any other accessibility standard. We cannot modify their internal markup, ARIA attributes, focus management or keyboard handling, and they may update their components at any time.

The responsibility for the accessibility of any third-party component rests with the corresponding provider. Lost Gen Club disclaims liability for accessibility failures originating in third-party software to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law (including, where relevant, EAA Article 4(2) and analogous "third-party content" carve-outs under WCAG-EM and Section 508 § 1194.32). Despite this, when an issue is reported we will act in good faith to:

  1. Notify the corresponding vendor and request a fix.
  2. Where feasible, offer the affected user an alternative means to complete the action (for example, a manual contact channel if a chat widget is inaccessible, or a phone or email order channel if a payment widget is inaccessible).

User-generated content

Content published by third parties on our store (product reviews, comments, social media embeds and similar) is not pre-screened for accessibility. We will remediate accessibility issues in user-generated content upon request to the extent reasonably possible.

Technologies and tools

This website is built with HTML5, CSS3 and standard JavaScript. It is compatible with recent versions of:

  • Browsers: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge.
  • Screen readers: VoiceOver (macOS / iOS), NVDA (Windows), TalkBack (Android), JAWS (Windows).

How we evaluate accessibility

We combine automated audits (using tools such as Lighthouse and axe DevTools on every significant deployment), manual testing with keyboard and screen readers on the critical flows (navigation, search, product page, cart) and a periodic review of the theme source code against an internal checklist aligned with WCAG 2.1 AA.
